Exploring the Lost City of Atlantis in Dubai  - by Atlantis the Palm

The myth of Atlantis, the hidden city under the sea, comes alive at Atlantis, The Palm. The marine animals in the 11 million litre Ambassador Lagoon are all native to the waters of the region: explore and you’ll be dazzled.

The Lost Chambers

Make your way around this incredible maze of tunnels and corridors, filled with ancient relics from the world of Atlantis, and uncover exotic marine life from all over the world. You'll see brightly coloured clown fish and lion fish, speedy groupers, stripy morays and myriad other peculiar and wonderful creatures. You'll be rooted to the spot in front of the displays of piranhas and the luminous nettle jellyfish and revel in the shoals of coral fish, all darting in and out of the ancient boulevards and crumbling artefacts of Atlantis.

Behind the scenes

The huge eco-system at Atlantis The Palm is manned and maintained by an army of 165 veterinarians, biologists, aquarists, divers, laboratory managers, food technicians, mechanics and curators from marine institutes and facilities across the globe. Take a Back of House tour and you’ll be taken round by expert guides to get an unrivalled insight into this enormous operation.

Lunchtime for you

Take a break and have a bite to eat. After seeing the wonders of the deep you may well fancy seafood for lunch – head to Rostang-The French Brasserie just opposite The Lost Chambers for a superb spot of lunch.

Lunchtime for Them

At the Lost Chambers, you can get involved in a real one-off experience: feeding the Cownose Rays in the company of an expert aquarist. You'll splash about in the shallow waters of the Shark Lagoon and find out more about these graceful creatures while feeding them with their favourite treats.

Getting up close

Make your way to Dolphin Bay at Atlantis, The Palm, where you can slip on a wetsuit and interact with the bottlenose dolphins, feeding them and swimming belly to belly with them in the warm, clear water: a once in a lifetime experience.
