Mum relaxes…
…At the spa. She’ll have a green tea and herb wrap. Or an aromatherapy massage with ylang ylang oil. Or a rosewater facial. Or, ideally, all three, followed by a long soak in the jet tub and a tasty salad served by the pool. Heaven.
While Dad makes some new friends…
…With 65,000 fish, sharks and kaleidoscopic marine creatures, in a vast marine habitat that stretches across the resort. He’ll spend all morning strolling round the vast, beautifully-lit lagoons at the Lost Chambers and Ambassador’s Lagoon: it’s a captivating, inspiring experience.
Who we’ll meet…
Dolphins! At Dolphin Bay at Atlantis. And we won’t just meet them – we’ll all put on wetsuits and feed them, swim with them in warm turquoise waters and give the kids the most memorable experience.
The world’s biggest adrenaline rush
All the relaxing and playing and sightseeing will be fantastic. But our holiday will really kick into top gear at Aquaventure, the water park at Atlantis, which is home to The Ziggurat and the Leap of Faith ride. It’s a vertical drop of over 27.5 metres, which ends in an adrenaline-soaked swoosh through a shark-filled lagoon
Where the kids will play
At the Atlantis Kids Club, which has a wonderful programme of activities for kids – they’ll go clambering up one of two climbing walls, learn to bake bread and cakes in the kitchen and even take part in producing and acting in an inhouse theatre. They’ll play games, watch movies and get involved in arts and crafts sessions with the Kids Club Crew
We love this idea. Atlantis is home to ‘Club Rush’, a special area just for teenagers – it’s a parents-free zone where they can watch movies on a big screen, play PS3 and Wii, and dance in their own club.
A day on the beach
Atlantis has no less than 1.4 kilometres of private beach – white sandy shoreline lapped by the warm, clear Gulf waters. There’s waiter service for drinks and food and plenty of shaded loungers to loll about on
The perfect family meal
At the end of a blissful day, we’ll head to join Ronda Locatelli for an Italian feast. We’ll love the stone-baked Napoli pizzas, the rich lobster linguine with lashings of chilli and garlic and the note-perfect pineapple millefoglie with rum ice cream, all created by kitchen maestro Giorgio Locatelli and accompanied by a bottle of two of Chianti classico
